Procurement Specialist – Cannabis Cultivation & Distribution

Pay Range: $75,000 – $82,000 annually

As we continue to scale, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to support our purchasing operations and ensure consistent supply flow across our cultivation, packaging, and distribution functions.

Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of materials, supplies, and services essential for daily operations. This role works closely with cultivation, manufacturing, finance, and distribution teams to ensure cost-efficient procurement, on-time delivery, and compliance with California cannabis regulations.

Key Responsibilities

      Manage purchasing of cultivation materials, packaging supplies, facility equipment, and operational inventory.

      Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure cost-effective pricing and reliable delivery timelines.

      Maintain accurate purchase order data and stock levels.

      Coordinate inbound shipments and ensure proper documentation, including manifests and compliance records.

      Track vendor performance, resolve supply issues, and maintain strong vendor relationships.

      Forecast material needs based on production schedules and sales projections.

      Monitor market trends and recommend cost-saving opportunities.

      Collaborate with finance to verify invoices, reconcile discrepancies, and support monthly budgeting.

      Ensure all procurement activities adhere to California cannabis licensing and METRC requirements.

      Support internal audits and compliance reviews for procurement-related documentation.

 

Qualifications

      Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field (preferred).

      2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience; cannabis industry experience a plus.

      Strong negotiation, vendor management, and organizational skills.

      Knowledge of California cannabis regulations and METRC preferred.

      Bilingual in English and Chinese is a plus.

      Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

      Effective communication and teamwork skills.
